A Revived Speakeasy
Tempting locals and visitors alike since its speakeasy origins, Paramount Recreation Club was founded during the heart of prohibition by philanthropist and known prohibitionist, Melissa Dora Oliver Eakle, also known as “The Duchess”. Melissa erected the historic Barfield building in 1927, that ironically possessed a hidden speakeasy in it’s basement.
Resurrected almost a century later, Amarillo’s best unkept secret speaks to discreet sophistication. Pouring classically inspired cocktails and vintage spirits, and serving a chef-inspired menu; clean sport, congenial friends, and a hearty welcome are waiting for you.
